Cascading Enterprise is a full programme for participants of ‘Switch’ who want to apply the learning by developing larger scale bespoke enterprise projects. Its aim is to develop enterprising cultures within schools, youth clubs and other organisations working with young people by equipping ‘Enterprise Animators’ - key individuals in positions of influence - with the skills, knowledge and insights to unlock and maximise the enterprise potential of those they work with.
The Enterprise Animators develop their capacities to design and implement enterprise initiatives which allow others to express enterprising aptitudes, thereby cascading the learning. These initiatives are implemented within participant’s own organisations. Individuals recruited to the programme are sought for their commitment to supporting enterprising behaviours in others.
The programme is tailored to the specific aspirations and needs of participants and the organisations they work in. An example might be meeting the statutory needs of teachers to deliver enterprise initiatives to year ten students in a way which provides genuine value to both students and schools. The programme is delivered over a six month period and is built around four interactive workshop days. The Animators are provided with additional one-to-one support to develop their initiatives and to facilitate the engagement of 'second level' participants to whom the focus for further enterprise activity cascades.
